Time to research

So we figured it was time we started doing a bit of blog research in order to make ours a bit more personal and professional looking. Manda posted me some links to some cool blogs and today I checked out one by Garance Dore.
I have to say it's utterly inspiring. I was hooked, not only are the illustrations fantastic but the stories and anecdotes included with them are interesting and funny. It makes my life feel boring in conparison but also inspires me to be creative and realise that there's always something interesting happening.
So keep up the good work Garance your a true inspiration. Can't wait to check out the others on the list!

Help save the rainforests and earth's lungs!
Tropical rainforests absorb nearly a fifth of all man-made CO2 emissions around the world, which helps greatly to minimise the effects of climate change. However, these same rainforests are currently being destroyed at the rate of an area the size of a football pitch every four seconds.
The Prince's Rainforests Project (PRP) was set up in 2007 by HRH The Prince of Wales following reports from leading climate change experts, including the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, to promote awareness of the urgent need to take action against tropical deforestation. "If deforestation can be stopped in its tracks, then we will be able to buy ourselves some much-needed time to build the low carbon economies on which our futures depend. Success would literally transform the situation for our children and grandchildren and for every species on the planet." - HRH The Prince of Wales
Destruction of the rainforests has very real and very serious consequences for us all - today and tomorrow. The PRP has launched a global awareness campaign to improve understanding of the link between rainforests and climate change and the need for urgent action to stop deforestation.

Now this isn't one of our usual posts. I came across this poem the other day and I felt it was really meaningful and made me think so I thought I'd share it:
The Boy with a Cloud in his Hand
by Sheenagh Pugh
He hasn't got much: not a roof,
nor a job, nor any great hopes,
but he's got a cloud in his hand
and he thinks he might squeeze
till the rain falls over the town,
and he thinks he might tease
the cottonwool fluff into strands
of thin mist, and blank everything out,
and he thinks he might blow
this dandelion clock so high,
it will never come down, and he thinks
he might eat it, a taste of marshmellow
sliding inside him, filling him up
with emptiness, till he's all out of space,
and he thinks, when he's hollow and full,
he might float away.
